What do we really need for living after COVID 19?! Professional Opinion of Marina Putilovskaya
A while ago we looked down on the World, from a position of co-working and co-living. We believed that we didn’t need many goods, and that we could live in a 20-meter flat and fly around the world with a backpack…
We talked about freedom “from…” and gave up everything “for…”
The World seemed to be embarrassingly simple and accessible, filled with friends and work, parties and warmth of human companionship!
And here came the Era of Corona…
And …it became pretty clear that it was difficult… impossible to survive in a 20-meter more than a month even for two people…
And in order to survive we would need a house, any but our own house with a porch and a little terrace…
It should have a Kitchen (yes, I spell it with a capital letter) for the entire family instead of a bar desk for a cup of coffee…
It should have a separate private office for every working family member, even though it could be a desk in the closet…
It should have good engineering systems, especially when a plumber would not be able to come within an hour, as well as an electrician…and well-designed house layout so that every member of the family could have his or her own space…
A house should be with vital, light and spacious interior design with comfortable furniture. Good design make the house not only a place where the family can spend few months during the quarantine, but a house where each member wants to come back in any occasion. Living in such a dream house is a pleasure.
Probably today when we are locked at homes and we have to stay on our couches we realize that life “somewhere away...” has no reason if there is no home to come back to and no terrace to drink a cup of tea …
And no kitchen to bake a loaf.
With people we nursed and love.
Of course, they will fly away...Our children…
But it’s very important for them to know that there is a place where they can return and always stay during the hard times, no matter how far they are – they can always come back home!
