LACY WORLD THE TRAPPING OF A HOUSE TRADITIONS AND MODERNITY

Russian State Art Library and Lissé Company invite you to the “Lacy world exhibition. The trapping of a house: traditions and modernity”.

Creative works of the Company Lissé, featured in the exhibition, are the synthesis of age-old traditions of Russian textile, skill and modern technologies. These works, made to a high professional level, offer the opportunity for viewer to experience art decor singularity of home textiles. Embroidery and lace, textile handle and color of bed linen and home laundering include experience of world history.Handicrafts instinct with distinctive charm.

The richest material in textile history of the funds of Russian State Art Library enable Lissé craftsmen to immerse themselves in the history of design and technology of textile manufacture. Masters have increasing possibility of new forms of lace and embroidery creation, using international practices of fabric decorative design and lace-making.

The lecture “Decorative textile in Russian palace interior of XVIII – beginning of ХХ century” will take place within the frame of exhibition at 5 p.m. on the sixth of March. The lecturer – Poliakova Yekaterina Vasilevna, Ph.D in Art History, Assistant Professor of Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry, Leading Specialist in the sphere of Russian and European textile (CIETA), member of international organization of ancient fabric examination, member of Russia Craftsmen Creative Union.

The exhibition is open in the Blue Hall of Russian State Art Library since February, 27 till March 12 since 12 p.m. till 6 p.m. The exhibition is open till 8 p.m. on Thursdays. Sunday is an off-day. Presentation of the exposition will take place on the third of March at 4:30 p.m.
