Dressed to Kill – Second Emmy for „The Borgias“ Costumes
Italian ladies definitely know how to make an impression with their outfits, but not many of them can pride themselves with an actual award.
Tuscany born costume designer Gabriella Pescucci is one of the lucky few. Not only does she call a genuine Oscar her own, she also just managed to win her second Emmy Award for the ravishingly beautiful garments she stitched for the TV series “The Borgias”. Many of the fabrics she used for the splendid robes of Lucrezia and her fellow-characters play a slightly different role in everyday life: The lavish jacquards, brocades and velvets by JAB ANSTOETZ Fabrics, Carlucci di Chivasso and Soleil Bleu (which she discoverd in the JAB ANSTOETZ Showroom near one of the shooting locations in Hungary) were actually designed for window decorations, upholstery and home accessories…
