WE SAY GOODBYE TO FOCUS/13
The London Lizzo showroom was full of designers, press and industry leaders throughout Focus/13. From Sunday to Tuesday, our helpful staff hosted clients and offered them the vey best in fabrics, wallcoverings, leather, furniture and rugs.
We were proud to present the newest collection from Sandberg called Gotheborg. This highly anticipated new collection of non-woven wallpapers features exotic motifs in coordination with classic patterns and stylish elegance. Inspiration was drawn from the East India Company’s voyages to the Far East and Gothenburg’s flow of new goods and ideas from distant cultures. Clients were very enthusiastic about the collection, especially the charming animals who feature on the wallpapers in a Morris inspired forest. The craftmanship of the papers is evident on every design, as every sketch and brush stroke is made by hand. We were pleased to meet the two main designers for Sandberg, Sissa Sundling and Karolina Kroon, as they made their tour of London Design Week. Garrett Leather was treated to a new display area in our showroom, complete with a full hide laid on the floor. The impressive scale of the hide and the amazing finish of the Distressed leather inspired a lot of enthusiasm for this high quality and exclusive range. Garrett realeased a new product that will prove to be a classic, named Caiman. This Italian full grain, aniline leather is embossed with a grand caiman pattern for a rich, exotic look fully on trend with this season’s animal print mania. It can be used on all upholstery applications and will age beautifully over time with a rich patina. This embossed leather would look fantastic on a footstool or chair, not to mention a handbag!
As always, clients old and new, fell in love with our Lizzo fabrics. The unique colour palette, timeless designs and rich textures of our 2013 collections continue to inspire. In our window, the Butterfly embroidery was literally stopping people in their tracks. From our Opera Collection, this dense embroidery features the Atlas Moth. In the 08 colourway in oranges, reds and yellows, the moths are shown true to nature in terms of both size and colour. On a recent visit to the London Zoo, our showroom manager, Kaitlyn, witnessed an Atlas Moth newly hatched from its cocoon, and it was as big as her hand! Here is a photo, absolutely amazing!
