Real German quality
Leave behind needless disputes, as poet advised, and try to (at least for a moment) thoughtfully gain an insight into the essence.
Simply let the first thing which comes to your mind pass your lips when you hear the word ‘Germany’.
Most probably, it will be “reliability”.
Oh, you don’t agree?
Do you prefer to put the term “accuracy” first?
I have no objections…
Any other suggestions? What about giving the palm of priority to the term “pedantry”?
Well, in this case truth will not be offended either.
This list can be continued for quite a long time (your humble narrator, by the way, would say “football”, but that is very personal, and let it stay that way).
A simple game with identification words will most probably finish when its supposed participants agree that terms deserving attention almost each and every have every right to existence.
And this is even more topical if it goes about the globally known German JAB Concern, one of the largest textile manufacturers.
“Stop, look back, and you’ll see…” – this universal formula can be used in many cases, so we won’t be an exception and a little expand it with “and understand”.
Let’s direct our eyes to history, and namely to 1946, when German Bielefeld city thanks to active efforts of Josef Anstoetz had given birth to a wholesale company which later became a family factory.
The company started to work with decorative and finishing fabrics.
Please pay attention to geographic name (we’ll speak later about that) and especially close attention – to the foundation date.
A year ago the Second World War ended. Country’s economy was ruined.
What is of top priority in such situation?
Power industry, automobiles, harvesters, machinery and everything which is included in the list of the notorious “A” group, isn’t it?
However optimistic Josef prefers something different. He believes that decorative fabrics will necessarily find its buyer.
What does here prevail: romanticism or typical German pragmatism?
And is it in good time?
If practice is a truth criterion, the answer is quite obvious.
And now let us give you the promised “geography class”.
Bielefeld city, where everything began, is located in North Rhine-Westphalia land which is the largest and most industrially saturated in FRG. Thus, in this part of our retrospective journey into history, Mr. Anstoetz’s choice can hardly be called typical.
And still…
Confidence in correctness and potential of such decision in many aspects predetermined current status of JAB Anstoez company and the place which it rightfully occupies.
We hope that Anstoez family will forgive the author lack of narration about all twists and turns and transformations of the family enterprise; moreover, we will necessarily speak about one of the milestones.
Year of 1955 was marked by that Heinz Anstoetz, Josef’s nephew, headed the company. And it amazingly (if it was amazing) coincided with its turning into industrial enterprise which, having remained faithful to fabrics, started producing nothing less than their exclusive collections.
And now, having had a swim in sweet nostalgia waves and paid tribute to the wonderful past, let’s get back to the present which has become truly beautiful for JAB Anstoez in all respects.
Concern, which has its representation offices in five continents of our little but still very cozy planet, unites under instantaneously recognizable brand a lot of various enterprises.
Collection which comprises around two thousand unique models is necessarily renewed twice a year (so, and so only).
“Announce, please, the whole list”, and we’ll find out that certain samples may be available in up to two hundred shade options, and some models may come in up to twenty thousand shades (we are deliberately writing figures in words in order to avoid doubts in correctness of figure order).
Such magnificence is always ready to swirl in a vortex of a lively dance with a wonderful proven partner – unique design which has become one of the concern’s carte-de-visite, perfectly made and, what is important, reflecting the rights.
Silk and velvet in a diverse color range represent gorgeous material for creation of stylish interiors which, in their turn, in the best possible way reflect philosophy of company which offers not so much products as a sense of life perception.
Cruise liners and public institutions, premium-class hotels and restaurants, luxury villas and yachts – fascinating patterns on wonderful material made by JAB Anstoez can be found everywhere.
Fiber, color and structure and design – are three unsinkable whales which constitute a confident foundation for operation of a huge team which confesses to draw its inspiration from the world around, independent of whether it deals with handmade carpets, finishing fabrics or designer wallpaper.
However, a story about the concern cannot claim to be complete (certainly, to the extent in which creativity can be complete), unless we mention one more component of such resounding success.
We constantly hear about it in various contexts and quite often ourselves take its name in vain, while, unfortunately, not always making it a part of our own efforts.
And nevertheless…
Quality. Quality. Quality.
Out of the above three words, pick the one which you like the most, and forgive author his repetition and platitude: real German quality.
