Are electronic cigarettes the panacea and phenomenon?
Yes, I was trying to quit smoking fourteen times, and seven of them back in the elementary school", a heavy smoker confessed in his same-name song...
Your obedient servant can’t make boast of such stormy ups and downs connected with the school life, but "smoke - quit", "smoke - quit", and smoke again - the author of these lines couldn’t avoid this.
We should admit that there is some hidden charm about smoking, which can’t be always explainable, but it always exists. Not to recognize this means to do a great favour to addiction and simultaneously to do more harm than good to your desire to quit smoking.

By the way, the desire to quit smoking is just as strong as the desire to drag on a cigarette itself.
Quitting smoking is easy, is not it? And if you do this easily, then why not to do it many, many times?
The mere number of times (as always successful?) definitely proves this presumption, at the same time speaking slightly ironically about it.
It used to be (only used to?) fashionable, stylish, and elegant to smoke.
Smoking was supposed to be a kind of ritual, mostly of relaxing character.
Its Excellency Smoke Break is not just a chance to breathe in a "necessary" portion of tobacco smoke; it is as well a philosophic condition of interaction of the internal world and external world with the perspective of their (maybe short-term!) reunion.
When the author of these lines was trying to quit smoking (for the umpteenth time...), the hardest thing, as it turned out, was to simply organize his working process.
It means that the proverbial smoke break assumed a distinct break between the activities; refusal of a cigarette brought in hurly-burly, confusion and other unwanted mess.
The problem might seem insignificant, especially on the background of the "classic" smoking taboo inconveniences, but it does exist, which once again proves the imaginary "simplicity" of quitting this bad habit.
To connect the unconnected is extremely difficult, if not impossible at all.
To stay with the desirable cigarette and at the same time to eliminate the harm that smoking does?
However, there is nothing that could not be tried, even if this attempt at first glance seems to be quite impossible.
Electronic cigarettes, which got out of sight at the same time, when they were first presented to the world, namely in the 60s of the last century, miraculously revived these days, having started their triumphal march around the world.
The principle is simple: a cigarette generates vapor containing nicotine, while completely missing the tobacco smoke.
Thus, passive smokers avoid the problem of this smoke inhalation, which has recently become not only a medical but also a social problem.

Maybe...
Moreover, there is a question that has not been definitely answered yet: "What ultimately causes smoking related diseases, tobacco smoke or nicotine?"
The final and reasonable answer to this question can provide the new-old product with the most powerful impulse for its widespread promotion and, what is most important, will be able to reunite smokers (already "electronic") and consistent tobacco opponents.
By the way, the author has not been smoking for already eighth years...
