Marie Antoinette’s Dream – “Je Vous Salue Marie”
Based on a dream about Marie Antoinette, this short film takes us to a place of hope and despair.
We see a regal Marie, vulnerable, distressed and afraid, yet strong, still holding her feet on the ground. She is lonely and sad. She dreams of a different life, but has to put up with the one she’s been given.
This film shows a departure from Yordanov’s passion for abstract and the avant garde, and reveals a softer side, a taste for classical beauty and romanticism, not previously associated with his works. It is a poetic short film that touches as well as inspires and simply gently caresses our senses.
Photographed by Oggy Yordanov and art directed by Jonas Oliver, it features London-based, Lithuanian-born supermodel Dite Anata.
